They also announced the voice cast:

  • Hailee Steinfeld as Vi
  • Ella Purnell as Jinx
  • Kevin Alejandro as Jayce
  • Jason Spisak as Silco
  • Katie Leung as Caitlyn
  • Toks Olagundoye as Mel
  • JB Blanc as Vander
  • Harry Lloyd as Viktor
I assume since Netflix is calling it an anime, it will be aimed at an older set.

November, huh? So an exactly 36 month gap between seasons. Man Netflix season gaps are long. I think cartoon fans in the streaming age are used to this type of thing now.

"First Peek At Arcane Season 2"

ghfjdfjs.jpg

"Even with increased competition in the years since its release, Arcane is still one of the best animated shows Netflix has ever brought out. And it’s felt like forever since 2021, the last time a new episode appeared. But at last, we have our first look at Season 2, which is rather short, but at least confirms the wait is nearly over.

The drugged-out mad scientist is named Singed, and he’s most known for creating the werewolf character Warwick, which he appears to be in the process of doing in the 45 seconds we get to see. Chained to the ceiling is the once man, future beast, transformed by the chemicals pumped into him."

Anyone else looking forward to Arcane Season 2?

"Netflix’s Arcane Will End With Season Two — But Here’s Why"

w1z7tdpw.jpg

"After waiting since 2021 to see any trace of Arcane Season 2, we were finally thrown a bone today with the first actual clips of finished animation — and then given a bitter pill to swallow it with. Turns out Season 2 is intended to be the last season, and always was.

Before you start any trending hashtags or fire your own rocket launcher into Netflix’s headquarters, you might want to hear this first: it’s not the end of League Of Legends on television. It’s just the end of this particular story. That’s all this means. Future LoL stories will go by a different name, and they are being planned.

“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” series co-creator Christian Linke is quoted as saying. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”"

"New Clip From Arcane Season Two, Plus Blu-Ray Release"

arcanes2.jpg

"Netflix still won’t tell us when, specifically, Arcane: League of Legends will be returning with its second (and last) season, beyond a promise that it will be sometime in November. They did share a short finished clip from the upcoming season over the weekend. At a minute in length, it amounts to Ekko and Heimerdinger sneaking down a series of hallways, so don’t expect all your questions to be answered.

Since it’s been such a long time, here’s a refresher on who those two are: Ekko first appeared in Season One as the leader of the street gang The Firelights. The authorities of Piltover are their enemies, so when Ekko ran across Heimerdinger late in the season — a former member of the Piltover Council himself — one would think there would be hostility. But they’re currently both on the same side and are working together."

"Arcane Season 2: The Big Trailer"

arcane.jpg

"Arcane: League Of Legends is still one of the best cartoons Netflix has on its servers, and if it feels like it’s taken forever to get more than eight episodes, that’s because it has. But the wait is nearly over because a spectacular trailer full of complete, dazzling animation was released today.

The war between the under-city of Zaun and the over-city of Piltover has come alive in vivid color, with pistols firing, explosions of many colors going off, and magic spells crackling. At the center of it all are Jinx, the rocket-launching maniac who ignited the conflict and has now become the symbol of the resistance, and her sister Vi, who’s leading the opposing charge to stop her. Alas, anyone who’s familiar with League of Legends lore knows Jinx is the famed character from the series, not Powder, so the likelihood of Vi ever restoring her sibling to her original self is low.

You know what’s most bizarre? This feels like THE trailer, the final one, the one that will represent the coming season until it happens…and yet there is still no release date on it. It still just says “November.” Why can’t Netflix decide where to put it?"

The winner of two Emmys and season two is coming soon, and no one put an Arcane post on this thread?

Yeah, Arcane's second season will be its last. But, Riot Games and Netflix want more for obvious reasons and stated that there will be more shows following Arcane. So, let's see how it goes in the future.

There is an existing thread. I've just merged your thread in with the existing thread. :)

"Arcane Season 2 Will Be Released Weekly, Starting November 9"

arcanevi.jpg

"They claim they’re still against it and preach the binge model, but Netflix’s actions lately suggest they’re turning around toward the traditional concept of weekly releases. Nearly all of their most popular shows in the last two years have had their new seasons staggered to some degree. Tonight they announced the second and last season of Arcane: League Of Legends will join this club.

We’ve been griping about the lack of a release date for Arcane for months. Maybe they were just trying to decide how to cut it. The exact number of episodes hasn’t been announced, but they will be released over three weeks, with the first chunk appearing November 9, the second on November 16, and the third arriving just in time for Thanksgiving on November 23.

Upon the announcement of a release, Netflix put out another clip! This one features an angry Vi in an underground fight club, socking down ugly after ugly in a montage that’s almost like a music video. It’s full of saliva! Seriously, you see airborne spit in this clip every five seconds. Don’t turn it into a drinking game or you’ll die."

"Arcane Season 2: The Explosive Final Trailer"

jinxsit.jpg

“Never a dull moment,” says Heimerdinger in what will be the last trailer Netflix releases for the return of Arcane: League of Legends — and we have to agree with him. More than any previous bundle of clips, this one really shows off all the work that’s gone into the show these last three years, with fierce fighting, death-defying leaping, and explosions, explosions, EXPLOSIONS. So many things blow up!

Plus, this trailer is open-captioned, so you can watch it even if you’re in a situation where you can’t play videos with sound. That’s convenient…

As we’ve gone over many times, the war between the under-city of Zaun and the over-city of Piltover has erupted. At the center of it all are Jinx, the rocket-launching maniac who ignited the conflict and has now become the symbol of the resistance, and her sister Vi, who’s leading the opposing charge to stop her."

Variety has posted a longform article about the show and how overambitious Riot Games was in entering the entertainment history. They said that $250 million has been spent on the 18 episodes and why the show isn't getting anymore seasons. It's a good read.

"Arcane Is The Most Expensive Cartoon Ever Made"

arcane.jpg

"The second season of Arcane is just two days away! All signs point to the back half Netflix and Riot Games’ League Of Legends adaption to be just as thrilling, engaging and pretty as the first half. It all not only looks expensive, it IS expensive.

Arcane has some of the best-looking CGI animation in the business and it did not come cheap. According to a new article published in Variety, when you put the two seasons together and factor in marketing expenses, the whole thing cost $250 for just 18 episodes, making Arcane the most costly television cartoon ever.

“We were never intending to operate like a traditional studio with traditional timelines,” says Riot co-founder Marc Merrill. “What did change as we learned more was our expectations of ourselves: We realized that getting it right takes a lot more time than we’d originally expected, and so we re calibrated our development, output goals and teams with that in mind.”"
