I'm happy with the Boomerang streaming service. I haven't had any use for the channel for years. If they ever did decide to shut it down I wouldn't care. That's just my personal opinion.
Because maybe people want to watch these old cartoons again? Because Turner can make money off of this service. Show Biz Bugs is uncensored, you get to see Daffy blow himself up. A lot of these cartoons have racial stereotypes and with what the world is like today, I can see why they'd be...
I dropped cable tv last year and this was one of the reasons. I get everything I want to watch from streaming services these days. I can watch what I want when I want. There's no programmer to dictate my schedule. One of the best decisions I've ever made and saving some money is always good.
Something interesting I've found. When you go to this link, for a quick second you can see the words Codename: Kids Next Door on the page. Watch for that cartoon to be added soon.
EDIT: And if you keep following the numbers in the link you'll get Captain Caveman and other shows that have yet to...
What the heck happened to this block? When it started we were getting shows that hadn't aired in years. Now we're getting the same ones over and over again. It's just like the 90's Are All That was.
I was hoping that this service would launch on April 1st just like the channel did, but I had no idea that the app was still in its early stages until recently.
I think it's pretty stupid to release it (sort of) only on the Google Play store. Now that I know it's on there I'd like to test it out as well, but iOS users can't do that.
As @HombreSinNombre said, this is what is going on with MTV's archive at the moment: http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2016/08/bostons_iron_mountain_inc_stor.html
I hope Wabbit gets better, seeing that short preview with Daffy and Porky makes me think it will. I can only hope that Looney Tunes gains the popularity that it once had even 16 years ago.
The schedule for the next few days isn't very great in my opinion. I would love it if they aired some old broadcasts with the VJ's. They clearly can play the videos, why not the VJ segments as well?
Not all of the original commercials during the first hour aired today, for instance, during the first commercial break there was a commercial for Superman 2, which was removed.
There will be a theme week in May called "Greetings from Nickelodeon Studios" which will probably feature the opening special aired back in 1990 and shows filmed there among many other things.
