Hey everyone! This is the first episode of a new web series I'm putting out this year.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5lGI9r2rho
Hope you enjoy it! I've got so many ideas for episodes (and am open to ideas as well!)... Troll Slayer is a lot of fun to do (and he'll be back with new episodes...
Hey guys, just wanted to share a new cartoon that I put together while I'm waiting for a bigger project to gear up. It's kind of silly but, then again, so is a guy running around in a bat suit ;)

Animated in Toon Boom Animate Pro.
Hey everyone, here's an animated/gameplay video I just completed that is number four in my Troll Slayer web series:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9SJe-afNY8
In this episode, Troll Slayer plays the game "Slender" (based on the Slender Man internet phenomenon)... and screams like a little girl...
Hey everybody!
Here's my latest cartoon done in Toonboom Animate Pro:

Obviously, I meant to release this around the time The Avengers was at the height of it's popularity but I got sick for a couple of weeks so that really set me back :rolleyes2...
Here's the second episode! Made a few adjustments to the character design... added some eyebrows and took away those ugly nostrils!

Here's a preview of the next episode:

Let me know what you think. The design hasn't changed much other then I've added some eyebrows.

Animated in Toon Boom Animate Pro.
My very first fully animated cartoon using Toonboom Animate Pro.

The animation is a bit hit and miss (especially near the end... that walk cycle is pretty iffy now that I look at it) but I think it turned out okay overall. I learned a ton making this...
Troll slayer
Hey guys!
Here's a short preview of a new web series I'm working on animated in Toonboom Animate Pro:
http://youtu.be/sC6c9wcOEi8
It's just a short clip (more to come soon!!) but I think it turned out pretty good. I'll post the full episode when I'm all done.
Have a great day! 8)
I'm an animator and from what I can see the animation lacks a good sense of weight and timing. The characters just kind of float from pose to pose. And there only seem to be about 4 or 5 stiff poses for each character that are used over and over again. It's very recycled looking.
That what I...
Here's one that annoys me... when people act like there must be some huge rivalry between the artists at Pixar and Dreamworks... when that isn't the case at all.
I've had teachers at Animation Mentor from both studios and they didn't have any bad words to say about any of their peers at other...
Hey everyone, this is a 2D video I did for actor/comedian David Spates. David Spates wrote it, voiced it, and added the "thought bubbles". I did all of the animation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMqrRZEFQy4
So far it's gotten an incredible response on YouTube. Over 9,000 views in 24 hours...
We already have that. It's called the CTN Animation Expo held every November in Burbank, CA. I went last year (and plan to go this year) and it was freakin INCREDIBLE. I've never seen that much animation talent in one place.
What made Avatar and Gollum work was the fact that WETA let the animators go in and "plus" the motion capture to make it better instead of the director forcing them to take what the mocap gave them and clean it up ala-Beowulf.
James Cameron doesn't want to admit it, but the animators had much...
Here's what I think makes technically good animation, so bad animation would be the opposite of these:
1.. Strong timing
2. Strong poses
3. Solid drawing for hand-drawn (there's nothing more annoying then looking at floaty/mushy looking drawings)
4. Fluid movement
Those are the bare bones...
Yeah, from what I've heard, it's one of those projects where it was a bad idea to begin with... so why was it still made? It looks really really bad... probably not much of an improvement over the original movie.
I've never seen any of his non-Disney cartoons but Ub was definitely an animation pioneer. The guy practically invented Mickey Mouse among other things.
Hey all!
We've been so busy with our movie that we haven't put out any new animation in a while... well, here's something new out at last!
It's the NEW episode of our web series: Mr. Flowerpot's: How to be a Man!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d3oemQUKuo
More to come later! Enjoy...
I just don't see how Disney would allow this... if they even know about it. They've literally copied it shot for shot... just in really crappy CG. It makes those Golden Films look like masterpieces.
At least those old Golden Film ripoffs were legal ripoffs. They're terrible, but they're legal...
"Character animation? BAH! Who needs it? We'll just motion-capture the humans and blow the rest of the budget on blood, gore, and explosions."
-The Producers
Every time I hear about a Japanese studio working for an American company doing close-to-fully-animated work (like on the best episodes of the old WB shows) I just imagine the animators going:
"WHAT? We actually have to animate to a pre-recorded SOUNDTRACK and do real LIP-SYNC??? That's way too...
Yeah, the thing with John K is that he's not a good animator. If you see his animation, a lot of it it looks really spastic and jerky. (more bits of John's own animation here)
When it comes right down to it he's a layout artist and a director... not an animator. He can draw funny poses... but...
So speaking of Flash animation... I saw a preview for that Fishhooks cartoon that's coming out on Disney Channel. That looks pretty nice! I like the designs and the animation looks good.
Some of his Flash work is okay... some of it is pretty bad though.
It's all about how you use it.
Even Flash "cutout symbol" animation can look good. Case in point: Foster's was animated in that style and it looked better then most of the hand-drawn animation on Cartoon Network.
I, personally, hate the Flash program. It's very clunky and you basically have to...
There's nothing wrong with being on model. If you read my last post I just said that there needs to be consistency in the animation. I even commented on the 90s cartoons going off-model being unintentional on account of inexperienced crews.
However, I think this consistency can be achieved...
I agree, although I like shows that have a more consistent look episode to episode... a lot of the 90s stuff had really sloppy looking animation coming from some of the Asian studios. The "off model" came more from the Asian studios not knowing how to draw the characters correctly rather then...
Family Guy's designs just don't work that well for animation. The characters are designed just to stand straight up and down and flap their mouths to the writer's dialogue...
In a world where you "MUST STICK TO THE MODEL SHEETS AT ALL TIME OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY"... Family Guy's layout...
Studios look at demo reels, not diplomas. They couldn't care less if you get a degree in animation. If your reel sucks, your diploma means nothing and that $100,000 spent at the big art school goes down the drain.
Really, getting a degree in animation does not mean crap unless you want to...
I think John has a good ol case of jealousy. I honestly think he's jealous that HIS name will never be as well known as Richard Williams, Glen Keane, Eric Goldberg, or Andreas Deja.
But what better way to vent some of that jealousy then openly insult his PEER'S work?
That explains why he...
