Is it just me, or does Boomerang need to get with the times and spruce up their library a little bit? Same with Cartoon Network. Despite the incredible restoration and remastering of most of this stuff for DVD over the past ten years or so, it surprises me that nobody at CN/Boomerang has cared...
This bit of information was discovered by Jon Cooke over at Golden Age Cartoons this morning:
"According to the listings on Zap2ItTV, Looney Tunes will be returning to Cartoon Network soon!
A marathon is scheduled on Sunday, November 15 from 1pm-7pm. Then starting the next day, there will be...
Okay, I know, I haven't been around the TZ forums in a long time. Golden Age Cartoons has taken up most of my online time these days.
But I thought I'd drop by to ask, regarding "The Batman": WHY? I was reading over the book "Batman: Animated" by Paul Dini and Chip Kidd, the other day, and it...
I haven't done one of these for a while, so I decided to do it a day early and beat Jon!;)
First, the rules!
1.There will be one picture per week. Only I, Jon, Thad, or Jack will post them.
2. You may post as many captions as you like. BUT: Please do not do any of these threads...
So far as we have a few "best and worst" lists going, I thought I'd try this one. Yeah, it's been done before, but it's still fun. Limiting it to just WB cartoons, what gags do you all think are the funniest of all? This could include violence, visual gags, verbal wit, situational gags, any...
I watched some of "Tom and Jerry" today and was surprised to see how huge the logo is now! They changed it too! Rather than a little semitransparent checkerboard at the bottom right that said "Cartoon Network", they now have a HUGE 2-letter logo that says "CN" with the words "Cartoon Network"...

Since that T&J thread was a hit, I decided that we need some broader topics around here, because we spend a lot of time discussing minutia. Minutia's fun, but some balance is nice too....big group discussions that take their own directions are fun and an aspect that's been missing lately.
So...
Since a couple of T&J threads have come up recently, and since they were so old, I think maybe Thad did the right thing to close them. But not the topics...those were some really fun threads to read again. I think we ought to just use this big, new thread instead.
Talk about anything "Tom and...
Thought I'd post this stuff over here. I think it's pretty darn good. Most of you remember my original characters, Bill Dawg and Buster Kat. I did some new "model sheets" yesterday that really capture them well, I think.
First off, Bill...

'The Alamo' Talkback (Spoilers)

If you haven't heard the obnoxious-but-catchy song by The Darkness, "Thing Called Love", you must have been living in a box. If you haven't, now's your chance. Upon hearing my neighbor next door blast it through the wall for a few months, it dawned on me that there just might be a Looney Tune...
I taped the classic cartoons from CN last night and caught the Toonheads about Friz Freleng's ant cartoons. It was too good to pass up! This time, it's "The Fighting 69-1/2th, "Gay Anties" and "Ant Pasted", to the music of Dave Matthews Band!

It's been a while since I posted any of my cartoon character drawings over here, and I thought I should post this drawing I did of one of my original characters. Originally conceived as a foil for Bill and Buster, I thought Hairball the Evil cat just wasn't mean looking enough. He looked too...
I'm in a radio broadcast course as an elective this semester, and as part of it, everyone in the course does an hourlong "show". Everyone does a promo for their show that runs on the station. I have to record mine in the studio, but to experiment I recorded some takes on my computer microphone...
Well, we've cursed them before, but now we can see nearly all of them in convenient collage form! These are the first two in a series of what I like to call...OVERUSED LOONEY TUNES PUBLICITY ART COLLECTIONS! Daffy, and Taz are up first! More collages to come...
