  • Sent the free-form counter-notification and checked back to see the result. For now it's favorable thanks to my thorough rewording. I'm hoping YouTube will successfully restore my channels and content after 26 months of hard work.

    Stay tuned for further information.
This week I'm likely set to return to YouTube after a two-year absence, because I found the missing link in the retraction to restore my channels. Hint: it's related with WBD but won't show the e-mail address for obvious reasons.
Man I would rather have more CU movies than Trolls or Boss Baby.

There's a second CU/Pilkey movie in the pipeline but it's going to be CU's spin-off Dog Man and has been frozen for a few years now.
One situation that confuses Europeans in translating cartoons is the concept of root beer. 1: it isn't beer, 2: it's a soda. And from what I read, nobody in Europe doesn't like it a lot. But translations are rather odd. (continues in comments)

There is no term for it in the whole Portuguese language, but the "untranslatable beverage" was met with "interesting results". In A Kick in the Asgard (CN dub) it was "non-alcoholic beer". But something interesteing happened in season 6 of SpongeBob.

All references to root beer in Pearl's slumber party episode were translated as beer. Yeah, how weird. However recently I saw the episode in Ukrainian and it was also translated as beer too. How odd.
Unlike previous years I was sorta worn out on April Fool's Day. I had a few pranks with potential (Kahootia, Hampsterdance show, etc) and it seems that nobody paid attention. But then again this also reveals another truth about the future of this place. (continues in comments)

Another factor was that this year April Fool's Day fell on a Friday and even I can't have hold of the last pranks that happen overnight when I'm asleep (these last ones were apparently lackluster). I did avoid referencing current world events.

Basically I use April Fool's Day to imagine an alternate reality of animation and entertainment in general, and this year's theme was (partly) less streaming and more linear, even though one of the first pranks I made in anticipation was aiming to a streaming future.

Also April Fool's Day is where I'm the most active, in the past couple of years there have been entire days where I didn't make a post. Maybe I'll do something special for my tenthennial in December.
I don't know how long I will stay here on a regular basis. Some old buddies of mine left ages ago, and I'm following them wherever they are now. But this also means that so much has changed in these nine years - today was the ninth anniversary of my first post, two days after joining the then-Toonzone.

I have to lay low for awhile. I need to take a break from this for right now, but I'll be back soon.
Bought Cat City (1986) on Prime today. Never seen it before, looking forward to watching it!
Super Metroid on the SNES turns 30 today in North America.
The sub-only anime releases in North America are the invention of the 2010s.
Not all of Family Guy has aged well (and he knows this - hell, he's friends with the PTC president now) but I genuinely think Seth MacFarlane is a really good guy.
