I'm not going to doomsday Cartoon Network, if these plans don't work then they'll try something else, they are throwing darts at dart board and trying to figure out things in the new world. (After the cable networks messed up their own gravy train) I think the line about girls was P.R stuff and not more about the idea that live-action is cheaper to produce, especially when you are owned by a phone company that has been losing money and buying stuff for no reason in the past decade. I don't think they are giving up on Cartoons, I think they are trying to expand and also make content for HBO Max at the same time.
Cartoon Network is their strongest kids brand and are just trying to put everything under that name for the CN hub on HBO Max.
