  • MeTV went off the air for about 15 minutes, right during one of the last Svengoolie segments up until it was time for the news (which I get in my area instead of Star Trek).

I get feeds for Boston and New Hampshire (I live in southern NH), both of which were off during that time. Regional, maybe?
I decided not to get any candy for Easter this year, mostly since I still had most of what I got on Christmas left over.

Yeah, I'm pretty bad (or good?) with procrastination.
I don't know if I'll be doing much, if any, April Fool stuff on here (my avatar notwithstanding). I did, however, do something for the Garfield Wiki on its Facebook page.

I've been all day. Timezone perks.

Author Norton Juster, best known for the 1960s children's books The Phantom Tollbooth and The Dot and the Line, has passed away at the age of 91 due to complications from a stroke.

Both books were adapted into animated features by Chuck Jones at MGM, with The Dot and The Line winning an Academy Award.

BTW, what forum should be used to talk about books? I wasn't sure where to put this.

Cafe Subforum. I could've sworn we had a general thread to memorialize deceased artists and celebs.

Thanks. I didn't see "books" in the description for Cafe, but I did see "ereaders", so I guess that's good enough.

For a second i thought you were talking about the Robert Altman the director of MASH, The Long Goodbye, and the live action Popeye movie. I almost thought wait that guy died in 2006.

    But overall R.I.P

Yeah, I thought that name sounded familiar elsewhere.
A bit of morbid trivia I discovered a few nights ago:

Four of the voice actors on The Brave Little Toaster (the original) have died...in their 40s.

Phil Hartman (Air Conditioner, Hanging Lamp)- 49
Joe Ranft (Elmo St. Peters, Clown)- 45
Jonathan Benair* (Black and White TV)- 47
Judy Toll (Mish Mash, Two-Face Sewing Machine)- 44

*Also appeared in the "to the Rescue" sequel.
R.I.P. David Richardson, writer and producer who worked on shows such as Empty Nest, The Simpsons (he wrote "Homer Loves Flanders" and produced 11 other episodes for the fifth season), The John Larroquette Show, My Big Fat Greek Life, Malcolm in the Middle, Two and a Half Men and F is for Family.
R.I.P. to musicians Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, Beck, Bogert & Appice) and Sylvain Sylvain (New York Dolls). Both passed away on January 13.

(for context a future spongebob informs squidward that the time machine is down the hall to the left)

Found this from Reddit. Had to trim the original a bit. And yeah the guy in the 2nd half of this is the new Sokka actor.
20 years ago today, Apple released Mac OS 9.2.2, the very last version of their classic operating system. It would be available on computers as late as mid-2003, whilst Mac OS X (now macOS) up to 10.4.11 had Classic Environment for computers released before the Intel switch in 2006.
