So both are original characters...although I've seen someone speculate "Gil Colson" is a reference to "Gil Mason" from B:TAS.

At first glance it looked like Affleck's suit, but upon closer inspection it looks more like the Arkham Knight Batsuit .

And that's a Bat-Theme to go along with it .

Also kind of interesting they mention Year One since Gordon's a lieutenant and Year One Selina kind of looked vaguely African-American at times.

I've seen some theories that the Bat-symbol might have been made from the gun that killed the Waynes.

This has precedent in the comics. Kevin Smith did a story with that premise in Detective Comics #1000.
