the last of us part 2

Okay, they mean it this time. They really mean it. Nothing, not even a civilization-crippling virus, can stop Ellie and her violent path of destruction now. According to a new statement from Sony, there will be no more delays for The Last Of Us Part 2, and the final street date for the game is June 19. Write it on the calendar with permanent ink.

June was around the time another long-in-development Sony game was supposed to come out….Ghost of Tsushima. Because of Last Of Us, that game is being bumped one last time, and will arrive one month later on July 17.

“As we begin to see an ease in the global distribution environment, I am pleased to confirm that The Last of Us Part 2 will arrive on June 19,” reads an official statement from Sony rep Hermen Hulst. “I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.”

You might be thinking Sony finally committed to a release date for this game because they figured they had nothing left to lose. And if you aren’t thinking that, no one apparently told you about the massive leak that took place over the weekend. The entire storyline for Last Of Us Part 2 is out there, with videos of all the major cutscenes. How can you possibly avoid seeing at least one of them before June? Depends on the kinds of friends you have. Dump the wiseacres before it’s too late.

The Last Of Us Part 2 will be released on the Playstation 4 June 19.
