It sounds hard to believe, given the massive hype, but there actually hasn’t been any new footage of Star Wars: The Force Awakens released since August. However, if the website ScreenCrush is to be believed, we’ll be getting more very soon. A new trailer, this one the final version before the actual movie hits in December, is reported to be ready to launch next Monday, October 19.
This trailer would debut online, then make its first theatrical appearance in front of the new 007 movie Spectre. Why October 19, you ask? Because that is also supposed to be the day tickets for the film officially go on sale.
We know this because Cinemark accidentally leaked out the day to its Spanish-speaking customers prematurely, putting up a tweet that was quickly pulled down. ScreenCrush also states this information has been confirmed by managers at several AMC theaters. It’s rare for a film to be open for pre-purchase so early, but these are special circumstances.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in the US December 18, 2015. (For some reason France gets it two days earlier.)
