The demo is going to be called, “Remastered Lite”, and in it, you’ll be able to not just download the game for free, but you’ll be able to go and play the first three dungeons of the game with your friends! You’ll even be able to transfer the data from the demo into the main game if you play get it in full, and if you’re REALLY lucky and you’re playing with a friend who is hosting the multiplayer and they have the full game, you can play the entire game with them.
If this sounds like a familiar thing, it’s because it is. Square Enix and even Nintendo have been doing various kinds of demos like these in the past. Square Enix actually did it with two recent RPGs they made via Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default II. The only difference was that they used those to gain insight into what the players thought of the game. But being that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is just that, a remaster, they’re no doubt just trying to make sure that everyone gets a chance to try it out and see if it’s worth their time.
The main game and the demo release on August 27th.
