Are we getting Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, Sega’s new game based on the legendary 80s manga and anime? Fans have waited for E3 for answers, and we got them today: yes indeed, it’s coming to the US!
The plotline of the game will be much like the manga, only with a few differences. Protagonist Kenshiro wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland looking for his lady-friend and beats up people. Then he beats up more people. It’s a task well-suited for the team Sega has assembled, which has experience creating the Yakuza series. Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will play in the same manner.
While you’re looking for another person to beat up, there will be many side activities to spend your time: you can get a job bartending or managing a nightclub, or go buggy racing. Lost Paradise will also include the original Fist of the North Star video game (which, if Wikipedia is correct, was released by Enix in 1986 for the PC-88). Other retro games are also mentioned but not specified.
Oh yeah….and if you’re aware of how violent Fist of the North Star can get, we’re told the game will be even worse. Sega says they’ve amped up the fist-crunching face-pounding head-exploding gore in the American and European versions of the game. When Kenshiro unleashes his Hokuto Shinken attack, you’ll feel its might, and you’ll then have to clean the blood off your jeans.
Watch out for Fist Of The North Star: Lost Paradise when it arrives on Playstation 4 October 2. Here’s Sega’s E3 trailer:
