Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is aiming to be a lot of different things for a lot of people, and one of those things is a movie that might just able to Kickstarter the Dragon Ball anime once again after years of being dormant since the end of the Universal Survival Arc. The movie came out in Japan not too long ago and had a strong release, so that part is taken care of, the real question here is, will it be enough to entrance the worldwide audience? Based on the San Diego Comic-Con trailer that dropped, it just might.
As you’ll be able to see in the trailer below, they show off quite a bit of new footage in the trailer, not the least of which is the two heroes they’re focusing on in Gohan and Piccolo showing off their stuff in order to defeat the newly reborn Red Ribbon Army and the Gamma androids that they have made to try and beat the Z-Fighters. We also get more teases as to the mysterious third entity that they were secretly working on, as well as the release of Gohan’s secret power to FINALLY make him on par with his father and Vegeta.
Speaking of which, we get to see more of Goku, Vegeta, and even Broly, as they’re off-world training with Lord Beerus and Whis, and apparently will come into the fight at some point and do a failed fusion based on some of the teases we see.
Not trying to make you jealous or anything, but those who were at San Diego Comic-Con not only got to see this trailer, but they got to see the first 20 minutes of the movie! For the rest of us, we’ll have to wait until August 19th in order to watch it in full.
