It’s become a rite of passage now for anyone who becomes even remotely popular to guest star on a YouTube show where they are fed wings with increasingly spicier sauces. Hot Ones has had just about everyone except worshiped deities appear on their show, and it was only a matter of time before they started pulling volunteers from Toontown.
Host Sean Evans’ guest this week was none other than Donald Duck. Donald claimed he was there because Daisy egged him on about not being able to handle it, but the real reason is because the duck turns 90 this summer. (Five more years until you can use him in your amateur horror films!)
Donald’s dialogue, which a lot of people have a hard time understanding, was helpfully captioned by the video editors. Instead of the normal line of sauces Evans subjects his subjects to, Donald dined on four fictional Disney-themed condiments: Queen of Roasted Hearts, Powerline Shock Sauce, Maleficent’s Fury, and Straight Out Of Hades. A fifth sauce called Cherna-Bar-B-Q was shown but skipped over because Donald gabbed a bit too long.
There’s just one problem with this whole thing: First We Feast neglected to credit any of the animators for this project. That’s a major faux pas at a time when the animation community is loudly fighting for better treatment. There could be some blowback coming their way, but if they won’t credit the people who made this happen, we will.
