There they were, Beverly and Eugene Strange, innocently vacationing in Philadelphia in 1930 and minding their own business when suddenly, they find themselves bringing forth the birth of one Stephen Strange – aka Doctor Strange – and now the Doctor will have his own feature film directed by Scott Derrickson, who also directed “Sinister” and the remake of “The Day The Earth Stood Still”. Created in a Marvel comic book in 1963, Doctor Strange injured his nervous system in a car accident and sought relief in the occult which eventually led to him becoming a sorcerer who would be responsible for protecting earth from baddies, usually in association with various superheroes [typically Spider-Man] albeit with his pesky arrogance getting in the way.
“Doctor Strange” is expected to have a 2017 release date.
