DC Fandome is aiming to deliver an experience unlike any other, and so far, it’s absolutely delivered. Giving updates on various DC Comics TV shows, movies, comics, showing off the love of fans, and more! But just as important, they had very cool new announcements to make, including the long-awaited reveal of what WB Games Montreal was making. And now we know…it’s Gotham Knights.
In this brand new adventure set in Gotham City…Batman is dead. For real. The chilling trailer for the game reveals that Bruce Wayne was killed, and as a “final message”, he activated a protocol to his allies in Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood and Robin to take up the fight and protect Gotham City, and that’s exactly what they’re going to to.
Below is the debut reveal trailer for Gotham Knights.

As you can see, this is not going to be exactly what you thought it was in regards to a “Batman video game”. They instead are taking you to the streets with the other members of the Bat-Family, and according to the heads of the studio, you’ll be able to build-up the characters the way YOU want them to. Which clearly means a lot of freedom and customization.
Plus, as a gameplay reveal later showed, you’ll be taking on missions solo and together in order to help get the job done against some of Gothams’ greatest villains. Mr. Freeze was confirmed both in the trailer and in the gameplay reveal, but also, they confirmed the arrival of The Court of Owls. A group that was born and made most monstrous in The New 52 via legendary Batman writer Scott Snyder.
The best part about this for gaming fans is that this won’t be the only game revealed at DC Fandome. As the Batman Arkham Trilogy creators Rocksteady Games is going to be revealing their Suicide Squad game later today!
