Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt Red

2020 can be defined in a lot of ways for a lot of people. But for the gaming industry, it can be marked by a loss of key gaming conventions like E3, The Tokyo Game Show, and more, as well as NUMEROUS games getting delayed in one form or another. One of the biggest ones of course being Cyberpunk 2077. Which was supposed to come out in April, then got pushed back to the fall, and now is finally scheduled for November 19th. Which left many wondering if it would actually make that date. Turns out, it will!

Because on the official Twitter page for the game, they released a post featuring the Keanu Reeves character holding up the legendary golden disc and proclaiming that they’ve “gone gold”.

For those who don’t know what that means, the gold disc is the “final” disc of the game, the final version if you will. And it’s that disc that is sent to distributors to be replicated into the gaming discs or digital downloads that you get to play the title. So yeah, it’s done. More or less anyway as you can expect Day One patches and such.

CD Projekt Red have been working on this title for a LONG time, ever since Witcher 3 ended, or even during then. They took years to refine the title and make it something truly special. From it story mode that goes and evolves based on how you play, from the various ways you can upgrade your player, to the characters you meet, and more.

Oh, and of course, they have Keanu Reeves in it, that’s always a plus.

With all the hype surrounding the game it’s going to be very curious to see how various players and critics respond to the title.  We’ll find out in about 6 weeks.
