The year 2020 has been one of major game releases and disappointments. On one hand, there were big releases like Animal Crossing New Horizons, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, and more. But, the year has also been marred by serious delays in some of the biggest titles of the year due to the global lockdown. The Avengers title from Square Enix for example was supposed to be out now but then got delayed, and Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be out in March but was delayed until September…and now has been delayed again.
This newest delay was revealed to us on Twitter, where the CD Projekt Red team noted that an “important development update” needed to be shared. And now it’s known that the game is going to be delayed until November 19th.

According to the team they’re taking the “ready when it’s done” approach. Which is honestly a motto they have been maintaining since they first announced the game many years ago. They went a very long time before doing serious updates, and even with trailers at events like E3 2019 they have been very cautious about what they announce and how firm they are in their status of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is aiming to be not just an impressive title, but a groundbreaking one. Which would explain why CD Projekt Red is aiming to take its time to get it right. A theory though that many are having is because of the new November release date the PS5 and Xbox Series X version of the game could not just be a launch title, but be a simultaneous release depending on when the two systems are coming out. They’re both scheduled for a “Holiday 2020” release.
One way or another, fans will have something to look forward to when the game inevitably arrives.
