When it comes to shows produced by DreamWorks Animation Television, most people usually think about the ones that are based on movies or other established properties. However, their original shows not based on established properties are also pretty good, as is the case with Curses. Season 2 comes out October 4, 2024 on Apple TV Plus. Here’s what you need to know.
Season 1 of Curses came out on October 27, 2023. The story followed the Vanderhouven family, composed of kids Pandora and Russ alongside their mother Sky Vanderhouven. The family is cursed by their ancestors’ pillaging of ancient artifacts from across the globe in which the father, Alex, was turned to stone. Season 1 wraps up the story, but in a way where it would be followed up. After reversing the curse on an adventure of a lifetime, the second season picks up with Alex rejoining the family as they continue working to undo the damage done by their greedy ancestors. Unfortunately, when something about Alex doesn’t seem quite right, the family must band together to solve the mysteries that confront them, both on the road and within the walls of Briarstone Manor.
The series sees the return of a star studded voice cast. The second season features the returning voice talents of Emmy Award nominee Gabrielle Nevaeh Green (as Pandora Vanderhouven, Andre Robinson as Russ Vanderhouven, Lyric Lewis as Sky Vanderhouven, Reid Scott as Alex Vanderhouven, Rhys Darby as Stanley, James Marsters as Larry, Rhea Perlman as Margie, Phylicia Rashad as Georgia Snitker, and Robert Englund as Cornelius.
Curses! is created and executive produced by Jim Cooper and Jeff Dixon. John Krasinski also serves as executive producer, with Allyson Seeger as co-executive producer. Leo Riley is supervising producer while brothers Chris Copeland and Justin Copeland both serve as creative consultants.
