“Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture” Dub Cast Revealed

It is getting closer and closer to the Hulu release of the newest addition to the Code Geass franchise. In fact, it’s coming very soon as in this Friday the 21. Just a few days prior to the release we have an English dub cast list in addition to the Japanese cast list. It looks like the dubbed and subtitled versions of the show will both be released simultaneously. The English dub will be an NYAV post dub. The cast will include:

  • Cory Lee as Ash
  • Luca Padovan as Rozé
  • Suzie Yeung as Sakuya
  • Griffin Puatu as Arnold
  • Dani Chambers as Catherine
  • Alan Lee as Tomo-Omi Oda
  • Dawn Bennett as Yoko Araki
  • Aleks Le as Shota Munemori
  • Kira Buckland as Haruka Rutaka

What is most interesting about this cast list is who is playing the titular Rozé. Luca Padovan was the titular boy in The Boy and the Heron, but has been mainly known for live action roles prior to that one. This will be Padovan’s first ever main role in an anime series. The rest of the cast includes many well known dub actors such as Kira Buckland, Aleks Le, Dawn Bennett, and Dani Chambers. NYAV has been known for high quality dubs and this entire cast has an impressive resume, be it with anime, video games (Cory Lee), or live action (Luca Padovan). Both the English and Japanese language tracks should be of very high quality.

A major question is how many episodes will the US get. The first two parts of six episodes have already been theatrically released in Japanese theaters, so it is possible that these will all receive a batch release on Friday. Part three will release in Japanese theaters on July 5 and the fourth part will come out August 2. This Friday, we will learn what the US gets. At the very least, we are getting both language tracks for one of the most hyped sequels to an anime classic.
