You’re dropped right into the middle of the action in “Mad Circus,” a short starring an old train conductor whose vessel is having a few….problems. Where is he? Who is he? Why are trains flying? This short does not tell a complete story, but instead drops you into the climax of one and lets your imagination fill in the rest of the details.
“Mad Circus” was created by Thomas Nemery in four months (plus four months of pre-production) as a project for SUPRINFOCOM RUBIKA (a French animation school). A wide range of software was used to create the models and textures: 3ds Max, ZBrush, Houdini, Mudbox, Photoshop, Nuke and Adobe Premiere.
The making-of video can be viewed here, and Thomas’s Artstation account can be browsed here.
