Netflix delivered a two-minute trailer to us this morning, full of action, vampires, violence, zombies, magic and campfire quiet time. A shorter version of this trailer was screened for attendees of Anime Expo earlier this month, but it was never put online. This is a superior edit anyway.
Returning to Netflix for a second season, Castlevania, inspired by the classic videogame series, is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council.
Executive producer Adi Shankar has lofty goals for the Castlevania anime, boldly stating he wants to â€œcreate the greatest video game adaptation of all time” in a Facebook post. All eight episodes of Castlevania Season 2 will be available to watch shortly before Halloween, specifically October 26.
