HBO Max launches at the end of this month, and in Adventure Time: Distant Lands, so does BMO…..right into space, where the androgynous computer discovers a planet in need of saving. So BMO dons a cowboy hat with a giant eyeball (???) and gets to work.
Who’s the rabbit? Where has BMO wound up? What is the catastrophe they’re teaming up to prevent? All questions will be answered in due time. The important thing is that we’re getting more Adventure Time, a fact we should praise Glob for.
This isn’t all! BMO’s story is the first of four Adventure Time mini-epics in the works. It will be followed by these exciting adventures:
Obsidian features Marceline & Princess Bubblegum as they journey to the imposing, beautiful Glass Kingdom — and deep into their tumultuous past — to prevent an earthshaking catastrophe.
Wizard City follows Peppermint Butler, starting over at the beginning, as just another inexperienced Wizard School student. When mysterious events at the campus cast suspicion on Pep, and his checkered past, can he master the mystic arts in time to prove his innocence?
Together Again brings Finn and Jake together again, to rediscover their brotherly bond and embark on the most important adventure of their lives.
You’ll notice something important is missing from this trailer…the date where you can begin streaming this. Unfortunately, WB and HBO still haven’t committed to a release day. While we’re promised we will get the first two Adventure Time specials within 2020, we don’t know when they’ll happen….all we CAN be assured of is that they won’t be ready for HBO Max’s launch on May 27.
In fact most of the more promising series in development for HBO Max won’t be ready at launch, nor have they been promised within the launch window. Hold your wallets for now….it’ll only be worth $14.99 when BMO gives the signal.
