Beebo Saves Christmas Scheduled For December 1

beebo saves christmas

Time rests for no one. As we speak, the stores are now scrubbing every trace of Halloween from existence with ruthless efficiency, replacing them with garland packets and ceramic Santas and Mariah Carey on an endless loop. (Some especially evil markets got started BEFORE October 31.) Alas, there’s no denying it. Tis the season for…Beebo.

The blue plush fluffball was introduced in the second season of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and quickly took on a life of his own. By season’s end, he had grown a hundred feet tall and was smacking down giant monsters Godzilla-style. Clearly, if he can do that, saving Christmas will be no problem, right? We’ll see. TVLine got the exclusive first image:

In the upcoming animated special — Beebo’s first solo outing — the titular character and his friends Tweebo, Turbo and Fleabo travel to the North Pole to defend Santa Claus’s job when they hear the jolly man is in danger of being sacked by Sprinkes, an “efficiency-obsessed elf” who thinks Christmas would run better without him.

Ben Diskin, who has performed Beebo’s voice samples in all his appearances, will be reprising the role here. Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black) plays the purple Tweebo, Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) plays orange Turbo, and Keith Ferguson (many, many cartoons) voices green Fleabo. Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) plays Santa, and Victor Garber, who was among the original cast of Legends of Tomorrow (and just reappeared for their hundredth episode), will narrate the story.

Beebo Saves Christmas isn’t the only new special Warner Bros is debuting this season, it’s one of three. The other two are Merry Little Batman, a Home Alone riff where six-year-old Damian Wayne must jerry-rig Wayne Tower with zany traps to defend himself against the villains of Gotham that are attempting to raid the place….and Did I Do That To The Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story, where the klutzy 90s nerd ruins Christmas thanks to his malfunctioning inventions and must find Santa Claus to fix things. Jaleel White reprises the role. These other two specials will appear on HBO Max and Cartoon Network at an unspecified date.

Beebo Saves Christmas will air Wednesday, December 1 at 8/7 Central on The CW.
