Avatar the Last Airbender Podcast Returns For Third Season


Avatar: Braving the Elements, Nickelodeon’s official podcast of all things Avatar the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, returns after a lengthy hiatus. The first episode of season three, “Book Three: Fire”, dropped on January 16th.

Varney and Basco discussed the pilot of Avatar the Last Airbender, “The Boy in the Iceberg”. The first season of the podcast reflected on Season One of Avatar the Last Airbender while the next season was paired with the show’s second season.

Varney and Basco are frequently joined by guest stars. From series creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, and voice actors such as Zach Tyler Eisen (Aang) and Jack De Senna (Sokka), to writers, animators, and fans of the show, Avatar: Braving the Elements provides insight to the hit Nickelodeon show through the perspective of the people who worked on it. Guests offer their unique experiences working on the show, and the hosts ask them questions that range from how they got involved in the world of Avatar and what kind of bender they would be. The podcast does more than just go episode by episode, as it also airs recordings from live fan events and does deep dive episodes with cast and crew.

Season two of Avatar: Braving the Elements premiered on May 3rd, 2022. The final new avatar legendsepisode, which discussed the Avatar the Last Airbender season two finale, “The Crossroads of Destiny”, was released on March 28th, 2023. Reruns of the show ran until May. In October of last year, a trailer for season three dropped announcing that the new season of the podcast would tackle the third season of Avatar the Last Airbender.

On January 16th, a full episode of Avatar: Braving the Elements dropped. Series creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko returned to give an overview of season three and talked about the inspiration for locations in the show, their favorite episodes, and bringing in Fire Lord Ozai.
