When it comes to anime, endings are something that are VERY important, and if you much up the ending, people are going to give flak about it. A great example is with Bleach, the manga felt rushed at the end, and the anime got canceled before the ending arc could be made (until now that is). And with the words of the creator saying that My Hero Academia might be done within a year, fans want it to be great as well. Then, there’s Attack on Titan.
The manga finished earlier this year, and the anime surprised everyone by splitting its final season into two parts. Part two of which is about to debut. On January 9th, Attack on Titan will release episode 76, and on Twitter (Via the shows website) a synopsis was given on what’s going to happen in that episode:
“In the pouring rain, a soldier is lying on the ground. Beside him, a man crawls out from the steam of a mysterious Titan. At the same time, Marley makes a surprise attack in Shiganshina District, the place where everything began, and the Titans begin to move. The Founding Titan and the Armored Titan face off once more.”
While that may sound vague, that’s very much by design no doubt. The finale episodes of the anime will help set the tone for how the anime is remembered. Don’t forget that this was the anime that helped launch the “worldwide love” of the genre alongside shows like My Hero Academia. And the anime has done its best to follow the mangas path. But whether it can showcase it with a quality that fans will love? Only time will tell.
Regardless though, you can bet that there are going to be a lot of people talking about it when the anime returns, so if you don’t want to get spoiled, make sure you watch it on release.
