Arrow is coming to the CW this fall and, curses, but they might have caught the eye of this staunch advocate of books. I typically don’t like sitting in front of the television for long periods of time, but they might have won me over with their pretty looking promos and tight editing. It looks pretty cool.
Arrow takes place five years after Oliver Queen was lost at sea and presumed dead. In fact, those lost years were spent on a remote and deserted island in the Pacific where he was left to his own devices. To stave off the madness of isolation, Oliver spent his time adhering to a strict regimen of running around, leaping off of things, becoming generally deadly.
He’s discovered by visitors from the closest neighboring landmass and then returned to his family. Changed by his time on the island, Oliver is no longer content to live the life of the billionaire playboy. Instead, he secretly begins to craft the persona of the vigilante, Arrow, to right the wrongs of his family and fight society’s ills. It’s also hinted that his adoring mother might know more about the shipwreck than she lets on.
I’m down for the first episode. Giddy up. Let’s watch the extended preview again, but this time together. Arrow will air this Fall on the CW on Wednesdays at 8pm.
