“Never a dull moment,” says Heimerdinger in what will be the last trailer Netflix releases for the return of Arcane: League of Legends — and we have to agree with him. More than any previous bundle of clips, this one really shows off all the work that’s gone into the show these last three years, with fierce fighting, death-defying leaping, and explosions, explosions, EXPLOSIONS. So many things blow up!
Plus, this trailer is open-captioned, so you can watch it even if you’re in a situation where you can’t play videos with sound. That’s convenient…
As we’ve gone over many times, the war between the under-city of Zaun and the over-city of Piltover has erupted. At the center of it all are Jinx, the rocket-launching maniac who ignited the conflict and has now become the symbol of the resistance, and her sister Vi, who’s leading the opposing charge to stop her.
The voice cast for Arcane Season 2 includes the return of Hailee Steinfeld as Vi and Ella Purnell as Jinx, along with Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Reed Shannon as Ekko, Amirah Vann as Sevika, Mick Wingert as Heimerdinger, Ellen Thomas as Ambessa), and Brett Tucker as Singed.
It’s a big week for Arcane. The new season isn’t out yet, but the physical disc sets for the previous season are: two Steelbooks with Jinx and Vi’s faces on them were just released this week by GKIDS. They each contain over three hours of bonuses and the Jinx version is in 4K. Plus, there’s Arcane stuff in the actual League of Legends game now: League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant, and Legends of Runtera will be receiving content soon directly relating to the show.
Arcane Season 2 starts on November 9 with Act I; Act II follows on November 16 and it all concludes with Act III on November 23. We mean literally — that’s the end of the story. LoL has a new series in the planning stages though.
