The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris, and Rodrigo Santoro are all in negotiations to appear in Rio, the next collaboration between Blue Sky Studios, Fox Animation, and director Carlos Saldanha, who produced the global blockbuster Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Fox would not confirm the casting for the report.
The movie follows a nerdy macaw who escapes his cage in Minnesota and heads for the bright lights of Rio de Janeiro. It is currently scheduled for release on April 8, 2011.
