Ah, good — we’re finally hearing from Hulu’s Animaniacs revival again. Last year the streamer waited until a few weeks before the premiere date to show us any footage or do any real promotion. After the response to Season One was so loud, Hulu won’t be making that mistake twice. They revealed today that Season Two will premiere November 5, and they have already renewed the series for a third season of ten episodes (the first two have 13).

To accompany the release date announcement, Hulu released a trailer. The only new bit of animation in it is Wakko watching the show on a tablet and impatiently awaiting news on Season Two. The clips on his tablet are all from Season One; he can hardly stand it. We feel ya, pal.

If we HAD to get a revival of this show where absolutely no member of the original creative team could be involved except for Spielberg himself, this is about as good a result as we could hope for. Nearly everything survived intact: the fluid hand-drawn animation, the take-no-prisoners social and cultural satire, the orchestrated soundtrack, Pinky and the Brain, and the notorious innuendos (though you can’t fool the ratings board anymore; several Season One episodes got a TVPG-D stamp). The only thing that didn’t survive in the 21st century was Yakko and Wakko jumping on random women and kissing them, and it’s obvious why.

“Yakko, Wakko, and Dot return for an all-new season of this iconic, family-friendly series with something for everyone: pop culture parodies, musical showstoppers, takedowns of historical baddies, and even some important safety tips,” teases Hulu. “Join the Warners and Pinky and the Brain as they wreak havoc everywhere they go, from the Warner Bros. lot to an international beauty pageant, even all the way into outer space. Keep an eye out for season one favorites Starbox and Cindy, as well as some rejected Animaniacs characters that were left on the cutting room floor.”

The cast and crew remains the same as in Hulu’s first season: Rob Paulsen as Yakko and Pinky, Tress MacNeille as Dot, Jess Harnell as Wakko and Maurice LaMarche as The Brain. Family Guy’s Wellsley Wild is still executive producer and Steven is still the overlord.

The first season of Hulu’s Animaniacs, as well as every episode of the original run, are available now on Hulu.
