Last week we reported on a new cartoon anthology in development from Blur Studio, makers of Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots. While the previous show mainly stuck to the science fiction / horror genre, this new series Secret Level will cover a wider variety of stories…based on video games.
Not very many of the selected game properties had been revealed when this show was first announced, but thanks to today’s Gamescom press event, we know all of them. The fifteen episodes of the first season will be about…

What we’ve got are some heavy hitters, some surprises and some clunkers. Seeing Concord there reminds me of that line of Halloween trading cards based on hot 90s IPs that had Widget The World Watcher for some reason. To whoever keeps trying to make Concord happen, it is not going to happen.
Speaking of the 90s, I’m excited to see what they could do with Mega Man (he hasn’t had much to do as of late). Dungeons & Dragons is a weird pull, as you can TECHNICALLY call it a video game property because it’s had some, but everybody knows the true game doesn’t require any electricity. Warhammer also started on tabletop but has a more established presence in the video game scene.
The animation style they picked is somewhat realistic, which isn’t going to fit with everything. We’re not sure how they’ll handle Pac-Man, but a small hint was dropped at the end of the trailer.
Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio are producing Secret Level, with Dave Wilson serving as executive producer and supervising director. The first season will be released on Amazon Prime December 10.
