Did you ever stare at the sickly state of Cartoon Network right now and wish it was the 2010s again? You just got your wish. Several of CN’s best programs from last decade are coming back in new forms. The announcement was made today during the Warner Bros. Animation’s Studio Focus presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The biggest news was the reveal of an Adventure Time movie. The plot of it is under wraps, and WB didn’t specify if it’s meant for the network, a streaming service or an actual theatrical run. But it’s in good hands: the project is being helmed by Rebecca Sugar, Patrick McHale, and Adam Muto. Rebecca Sugar is working on Adventure Time again??? SHMAZOW!!!

After targeting grown-ups with Fionna and Cake, AT will return to targeting kids with two new shows: Adventure Time Side Quests, bringing the franchise back to its early days when our characters were younger, and Heyo BMO, an adorable stop-motion preschool series starring everyone’s favorite sentient handheld video game system. Adam Muto and Ashlyn Anstee (former storyboard artist on AT) are shepherding the latter.

The two AT shows will also be joined by the already announced Foster’s Funtime, a spinoff of Craig McCracken’s six-season series that features Bloo babysitting a group of younger imaginary friends. McCracken himself is supervising, to show that lousy IF movie how this concept is really done. There is no date set for CN’s revamped preschool block or when all these shows could show up.

That’s all good, but how about more shows for people above 7? Here’s a big one: CN is bringing back Regular Show with a new spinoff series. The new show, yet to be titled, will star “some of the cast from Regular Show” but it was not specified who’s returning. JG Quintel, fresh off the vaporization of his Max adult comedy Close Enough, will be returning to run the new (regular) show.

Cartoon Network will reveal more about these projects later.
