Aardman Animations Showcase Cinema Advert To Promote UN Global Goals

Aardman Animations have unveiled the world’s first global cinema advert, aimed at promoting the Global Goals initiative which seeks to implement a series of seventeen UN targets for social equality and climate change. The advert was produced by Sir John Hegarty in partnership with SAWA Global Cinema Advertising Association, Project Everyone and BBH. Founded by Richard Curtis, known both for his work in entertainment and humanitarian aid including the charity Comic Relief, Project Everyone aims to inform as many people about the goals as possible in hopes of best increasing their chance to succeed.

Appearing in cinemas in over 34 countries and featuring voice work by Liam Neeson and Michelle Rodriguez, audience members can interact with it using the Global Goals app available on iOS and Android and in turn help spread the word.

Aardman Director and Designer Darren Dubicki commented:  “When Richard, John and the Project Everyone team approached us, we were blown away by the scale of this ambitious mission, and we were thrilled to be asked to be part of the team.

Being entrusted to create something so unique as the first ever global cinema ad felt incredibly special – we were given this opportunity to dramatise this momentous milestone for the UN, and use humour to convey the seriousness of the message. It was a simple twist that we knew would work… in a fun way.

We’re certainly proud to be part of this historical campaign and hope that our film exceeds its role in telling cinema goers to spread the word.”
